This is more than a roadster; its a 240HP time capsule. The M was the brawny, bulked up factory performance version of the attractive, but admittedly tame Z3 and featured a wider stance, bigger wheels and tires, sport suspension, better brakes and yes, that absolutely wonderful 3.2 liter BMW M-Power inline 6. It was (and still is) the BMW roadster that turned heads. Its no wonder these cars are being identified by car experts as the next wave of highly collectible models. I am the second owner of this car, having purchased it in 2005 from the BMW dealership that sold the car new. I bought the car with approximately 25K on the clock and have personally been responsible for the rest of the miles to date, most of which were logged by 2007 and less than 1K per year since then. The car has always been adult driven by me. Those miles were driven respectfully, the car never being abused or neglected, and service was completed by the BMW dealer. In fact, a full check up was conducted just a few miles ago just to assess the cars overall condition and to identify any issues; it passed with flying colors. The car has current PA safety and emissions inspections (passed with no issues) good through November of 2017. In short, this gem runs, drives, shifts and handles remarkably and is an absolute joy to drive. The car comes with the factory canvas convertible top (with window in very good shape, but not perfect) as well as the somewhat rare matching factory removable hardtop, complete with storage bag and cart. The hardtop also features a rear-window defogger. I absolutely love how the look of this car transforms when the hard top is installed, although I havent driven it in cold weather in more than 10 years. Excellent condition, garage kept, runs perfect, low miles, near perfect interior, grandma driven by an actual grandma. Wheels are chewed up from the curb and mymother's inability to park. It's really the only cosmetic issue. Nomechanical issues. Just serviced by BMW. Small oil leak near alternator. BMWstated it should be fixed at some point but no emergency. Have the record ofthat service just request to see it. This car is near perfect and I hate sellingit. In my opinion it's the buy of a lifetime.

I am moving and am looking to sell my baby. The car only had one owner beforeme. I have owned it since 2009 and have taken very good care of it. I recentlygot it detailed and it looks almost brand new. The car is still under a platinumplus warranty until April that covers everything bumper to bumper. This not onlyshould give piece of mind, but it is also worth over $500. It also has LoJackinstalled which is worth another $500. The car has been in no accidents and ithas never been smoked in.

Im Letting go of my 745Li i have in los angeles, this car has always beenmaintained by my local BMW dealer, and looks and drives great. 2001 BMW 740i "M" Sport- MECHANIC CERTIFIED -There are no mechanical issues withthis vehicle whatsoever. Everything works perfectly. Within the last month, the valve cover gaskets (both sides) were replaced andMobil 1 Synthetic Motor Oil added. The oil pan gasket was also replaced. Ifthese gaskets are not replaced on a car this old, regardless of the mileage, therubber becomes hard and cracked and thereafter the car can leak oil. The lowercontrol arm was also replaced, as were the rear brake pads. Even the shocks inthe trunk were replaced. No expense was spared for any possible issue. Totalrepair cost: $4,288.38! Drives extremely tight. Like a brand-new car. Theinterior and exterior are gorgeous. Smells wonderfully new. Wheels have no curb rash. All original paint, interior and mechanical. The mileage is correct andverifiable. Very minor scratches on exterior paint. The following text is mostlyfrom direct quotes from an article from BRING A TRAILER (BAT) posted on March 7,2011. I have changed the text to reflect updated information on the car. This1981 BMW 745i was purchased by an airline pilot in 1982 when it had less than5000 miles. The interior is original with no tears. There is one small crack1/10” in the bead trim on the driver’s side seat. According to BAT, aprevious seller in California always kept the car under a cover and the storygoes that it was purchased from one Ferdinand Marcos’ bodyguards that broughtthe car in from the Phillippines. The car has seen no accidents, was well storedand maintained. There are some locations under the car where surface rust hasoccurred on the underside and chasis. Also, on some of the small brackets and afew places under the hood. These have been treated with a rust inhibitor. Itstarts and runs well, the turbo works as it should (laggy until about 3500rmp),and the automatic transmission shifts great. It is in good driveable condition. The interior is just about mint condition with the period correct Blaupunktstereo controller. The radio works about 30% of the time, and the cassetteplayer works good. A non-smoker interior, there are also zero tears in theseats, all the window controllers and sunroof work as well. The radio antennaelowers and raises with an electric motor, but does not lower the antennae allthe way down flush. The car has had the fuel, cooling system, and turbo setupfully gone thru by a BMW Master Tech at the end of 2010. A new valve covergasket and many other parts were also freshened up. The front end has the factory M Sport facia, which is a lot moreaggressive than the base model. This car was purchased a year and a half ago onEbay with damaged front end, hood, and right front fender. It was deemed to be asalvaged/branded title vehicle due to the expensive nature of the parts. Theframe was not damaged in any way, it was verified to be completely straight. I have complete records ofevery item purchased, and all the labor required to complete these repairs.
