Up for sale is an excellent example of a 1952 Mercury Monterey 2 door hardtop. The car has just over 85,000 miles. After years of searching for my perfectclassic car I finally found this dream boat in Moreno Valley California in 2003. It was love at first sight. The car was rust free and solid and it immediatelyhad a place in my heart and garage. In 2005 I had the car completely repainted byConnecticut's well renowned auto body guru (Jerry W). At that time I alsoinstalled 5 new Firestone bias whitewall tires. From there I proceeded to removeand re chrome every piece of trim on the entire car, or show polish thestainless. In addition I had the radio rebuilt, installed a new clutch, brakes, water pumps (2), starter, generator, battery, points & plugs, wipers, ect -allof this has less than 4000 miles. I believe this is the original 255 engine inthe car and she runs and drives like a gem. The interior as well is all originalgreen with white Naugahide upholstery and green carpets. I have a new workingclock that goes with the car along with owners manual and spec sheet and a lotof receipts as well. On a rating scale , I would give the paint a solid 9 andthe chrome a 9.5 Over the past 15 years I have taken her to a hand full of carshows, parades and events and always turned heads and struck up.

1957 Mercury Monterey Convertible Parts Car or Restore. My 1st car in 1962 was a 1957 Mercury Monterey Convertible. When Ibought this car the idea was either restore or modernize with a high performancemotor and transmission, modern brakes and steering to be a Cruise in or weekenddriver! Due to a deteriorating back issue at age 71 I realize this is nevergoing to happen so someone else should have the opportunity to bring the carback to glory. This will be an ambitious restoration. Someone before me, I don'tknow who appears to have had some professional work done to the body. Floors aresolid throughout, I believe replaced. I see no rust on the body. The headerbow for the top assembly will need metal repair work from rust and a couple ofthe bows need some straightening but the Top mechanism does fold up and down byhand. Doors open and shut nicely, no sagging. I have no knowledge as to thecondition of the motor and transmission or any components to the car. Motor isjust sitting in place and the radiator is just sitting in place. Drive shaft isin the trunk. It rolls and steers forloading. Missing parts are Gas Tank, Trunk Latch, HoodLatch, Window crank handles, Door Locks, Keys, sunvisors and I am sure otheritems.
